The Martian is a 2015 science fiction film directed by Ridley Scott and starring Matt Damon. Drew Goddard adapted the screenplay from the 2011 novel The Martian by Andy Weir. The film depicts an astronaut's lone struggle to survive on Mars after being left behind and the efforts of NASA to rescue him and bring him home to Earth. It also stars Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, Kristen Wiig, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sean Bean, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Sebastian Stan, Aksel Hennie, Mackenzie Davis, Donald Glover, and Benedict Wong.

Numberphile is a great YouTube channel for anyone who adores mathematics. The channel was created by Brady Haran who is backed up by a legion of fellow math-maniacs. This YouTube channel is focussed on making learning mathematics fun and more interesting. Their content is filled with colorful, well-produced, and edited graphic videos that will keep you engaged while learning something new. Topics vary but include things like Pi, prime numbers, Graham’s number, even games like Rubik’s Cube, and Yahtzee. The presentation style of this channel will certainly help you learn about many math-concepts with ease.

PBS Learning Media is a site containing videos covering applications for Math, Science, Engineering and Technology.

PBS Nova Youtube site contains videos covering STEM applications and STEM careers.


Learn Engineering videos explain complicated engineering principles. The channel also focuses on debunking misconceptions and in creating a passion for engineering in students. An example of videos is the beautiful engineering of bridges.
